The Punjab Health Department has issued new orders regarding leave.
The authority to grant leave to senior doctors has been withdrawn from the administrations of teaching hospitals and medical institutions. Teaching hospitals will now only be able to approve 89 days of leave for employees up to Grade 17.
Leave for senior registrars up to professors will be approved by Health Department officials. However, the authority to approve maternity and iddat leave for female doctors and employees will remain with the hospitals.
All types of leave for General Cadre doctors in Grades 18 to 20 will also be approved by the Health Department. Previously, the heads of hospitals had the authority to approve 89 days of leave for all doctors and government employees.
