Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced heavy downpour and hailstorm on Thursday, disrupting routine life and causing traffic snarls.
Heavy showers coupled with hailstorm battered Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, bringing relief from the heat but creating difficulties for commuters.
According to the Met Office, multiple areas reported intense rainfall with strong winds, leading to waterlogging on major roads. The sudden weather change also caused traffic jams and slowed public transport in both cities.
Meanwhile, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar, Mardan, and Swabi also witnessed heavy showers, with residents sharing visuals of hail covering streets and rooftops.
The meteorological department has forecast more rainfall in upper Punjab, Islamabad, and KP during the next 24 hours. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious while traveling in rain-areas.
