Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi has announced a special exhibition match against a Legends XI to raise funds for flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The charity game will be played on August 30 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar.
The initiative, launched under the slogan “Khel Se Khidmat” (Service through Sports), is being organized in collaboration with the KP provincial government and the Directorate General of Sports. Importantly, all ticket proceeds will go directly to flood relief and rehabilitation projects across the province.
Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi said the event symbolizes the unifying power of cricket:
> “This is more than just a game. Cricket has always united the nation, and now it’s our responsibility to stand with those affected by the devastating floods.”
KP Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan praised the effort, calling it “a reflection of empathy through sport” and an example of how cricket can serve beyond the boundary.
The match is expected to draw big crowds, with current Zalmi stars and former national heroes coming together on one stage. Fans and analysts alike have welcomed the move, hailing it as a meaningful way to combine entertainment with community service.
