ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue has begun closely monitoring luxury beauty parlours and doctors who charge high consultation fees, officials confirmed on Monday. The decision follows growing concerns over undeclared income and tax discrepancies within these sectors.
According to sources, several upscale salons and clinics have been flagged for irregular financial records. FBR teams are reviewing income statements, customer inflow, and service charges to ensure transparent tax compliance.
The move has sparked reactions across the industry, with some welcoming the accountability drive while others expressing worry over potential harassment. Consumers, however, hope the scrutiny will bring fairness and price transparency in services that have become increasingly expensive.
