Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Lady Annabel Goldsmith, the mother of his former wife, Jemima Goldsmith.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Khan said he learned about the sad news from his family a day earlier.
“I was deeply saddened to hear from my family about the passing of Lady Annabel Goldsmith. She was a wonderful grandmother to my sons and a truly kind and compassionate human being,” Imran Khan wrote.
He added that during his visits to London, he would often stay with her along with his sons.
“She was like a mother to me, especially after my own mother passed away in 1985,” he shared.
Imran Khan said her death was a profound loss, adding that she would always remain in their memories.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If I were not imprisoned, I would have joined my sons, Sulaiman and Qasim, in attending her funeral,” he wrote.
It is worth noting that Lady Annabel Goldsmith, a well-known British social figure and philanthropist, passed away on October 18 at the age of 91.
