ISLAMABAD:
In a rare public appearance, the sons of former Prime Minister Imran Khan — Sulaiman and Qasim Khan — have appealed for their father’s immediate release, citing deteriorating prison conditions and violation of basic human rights.
Speaking to international journalist Mario Nawfal during an exclusive interview, the brothers described Imran Khan’s incarceration at Adiala Jail as “inhumane and deeply concerning.” They revealed that despite a court order issued in November 2023 allowing regular family contact, they have only managed to speak to their father once every two to three months.
“He is being held in solitary confinement with no proper access to medical care or legal communication. It is not just a political case now — it is a human rights issue,” said Sulaiman.
Imran Khan has been in prison since August 2023 and is currently facing over 100 legal cases, many of which his legal team claims are politically motivated.
The plea from his sons has reignited public debate both in Pakistan and abroad over the fairness of his detention and the state of judicial transparency in the country.
