A high flood has been recorded at Guddu Barrage, where the Indus River has swelled to dangerous levels with inflows around 635,759 cusecs and outflows nearly 606,489 cusecs. Authorities have issued warnings and urged residents in vulnerable downstream areas to evacuate to safer ground.
Rising water levels are also being observed at Sukkur and Kotri barrages, with moderate flooding expected there.
Vast stretches of farmland have already gone underwater, damaging crops across thousands of acres.
Rescue teams are active in Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, and Shikarpur, deploying boats, hovercrafts, and divers to relocate families and livestock.
Emergency health camps and temporary shelters have been set up to provide medical aid and safe housing for displaced communities.
The flood surge follows heavy monsoon rains and upstream flow from Punjab into Sindh.
Provincial authorities remain on high alert as forecasts warn of more water pressure in the coming days, heightening the risk of widespread flooding across Sindh’s low-lying regions.
