Japan Announces $3.5 Million Grant for Pakistan’s Polio Eradication Programme

‎Japan has announced a grant of $3.5 million for Pakistan’s polio eradication programme.

‎According to the National EOC, an agreement was signed between Japan and UNICEF during a ceremony held in Karachi.

‎The National EOC stated that Pakistan is among the two countries in the world where the polio virus still exists, and 30 cases have been reported this year.

‎Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s focal person for polio eradication, said that they are grateful for Japan’s support in ending polio, adding that this partnership is a symbol of solidarity and a shared goal.
