Japan has announced a grant of $3.5 million for Pakistan’s polio eradication programme.
According to the National EOC, an agreement was signed between Japan and UNICEF during a ceremony held in Karachi.
The National EOC stated that Pakistan is among the two countries in the world where the polio virus still exists, and 30 cases have been reported this year.
Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s focal person for polio eradication, said that they are grateful for Japan’s support in ending polio, adding that this partnership is a symbol of solidarity and a shared goal.
