Multan – An Additional District and Sessions Court in Multan has awarded the death penalty to Ali Raza in the murder case of his wife, Sania Zahra.
According to court documents, six members of the family—including Ali Raza, his mother Azra Parveen and brother Ali Haider—were nominated in the case.
Announcing the verdict, the court handed down the death sentence to Ali Raza under Section 302, while Azra Parveen and Ali Haider were sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 500,000 each. Three other accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Speaking to the media after the judgment, the victim’s father, Asad Abbas Shah, said he had fought the legal battle alone for his daughter. “Today, justice has prevailed. This verdict will serve as a deterrent so no one dares to kill someone’s daughter again,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that Sania Zahra was murdered last year, allegedly by her husband.
