KARACHI: Pakistan Customs Enforcement carried out a successful intelligence-based operation against smuggling in Karachi, officials said on Friday.
According to details, the pre-dawn raid was conducted at warehouses located in Bartan Gali of Jodia Bazaar. Collector Customs, Moinuddin Wani, stated that the team recovered 310 sacks containing 3,720 kilograms of smuggled areca nuts, worth an estimated Rs5.58 million.
Officials added that the contraband was being distributed from these warehouses to various parts of the city. A case has been registered, and the seized goods have been taken into custody for further legal action.
