Karachi, December 20:
The Karachi World Book Fair (KWBF), organized by the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association, continued with full enthusiasm on its fourth day at the Karachi Expo Centre, attracting an overwhelming response from book lovers across the city.
According to an estimated count, more than 300,000 visitors, including students from over 200 schools and colleges, attended the book fair on Saturday. A large crowd was seen at stalls featuring children’s storybooks, novels, and historical literature, while science fiction, general knowledge, and educational books also witnessed strong sales.
Several prominent personalities visited the fair, including former Federal Minister for Education and Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi, MNA Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Munam Zafar, Managing Director National Book Foundation Dr. Kamran Jahangir, Regional Director Fayaz, renowned writer Fatima Hasan, along with other literary, social, educational, and religious figures.
The World Book Fair features 329 stalls set up by local and international publishers and booksellers. Publishers from 17 countries, including Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, and the UAE, are participating in the event.
The Karachi World Book Fair will continue until December 22 (Monday).
