In view of Basant in Lahore, the Punjab Health Department has issued a high alert to thirteen hospitals in the city.
Thirteen government hospitals in Lahore will remain on high alert from February 6 to 8. All hospitals have been directed to ensure the presence of medical, nursing and paramedical staff and to make medicines, drips, vaccines and surgical equipment fully available.
In addition, hospitals have been ordered to arrange blood bags and prepare a list of blood donors. Beds should be reserved for Basant-related emergencies, and X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI machines must be kept functional.
The notification states that all hospitals must have active mobile and telephone connections, and hospital administrations have been instructed to prepare a plan and submit it immediately to the Punjab Health Department.
