QUETTA – The Levies Force foiled a drug smuggling attempt in the Wadh area of Balochistan, arresting one suspect and seizing a large quantity of narcotics. According to the district administration, Levies personnel intercepted a suspicious vehicle at the Gasliti check post, recovering 10 kilograms of hashish packed in plastic bags. The suspect, identified as Rehmatullah, was taken into custody.
Officials stated that the seized drugs, valued at several hundred thousand rupees, were intended for distribution in different parts of Balochistan. During initial interrogation, the accused confessed to being part of a cross-border smuggling network that transports narcotics from Afghanistan into Pakistan.
A case has been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act of 1997, and further investigation is underway to trace other members of the network.
