The Livestock Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an advisory regarding the Congo virus.
Officials of the Livestock Department said that precautionary measures should be adopted at cattle farms and other locations to prevent the spread of the Congo virus.
The Livestock Department has instructed citizens to take safety measures while purchasing, transporting, and slaughtering animals.
Citizens have been advised to use gloves, masks, and protective clothing when approaching animals.
The advisory also stated that spraying, cleaning, and disinfection measures should be carried out in cattle farms.
The Livestock Department has directed field staff to ensure monitoring and immediate reporting of Congo virus cases.
The advisory further said that butchers and livestock traders should follow hygiene principles, adding that the risks of the Congo virus can be reduced by following these precautionary measures.
