Karachi – A tragic incident took place in Mohammad Khan Colony near Northern Bypass, Gulshan Chowk, where armed attackers opened fire over a love marriage. The shooting resulted in the death of a man and his uncle, while another uncle was injured. The attackers also took the girl with them and escaped.
According to police, the victim, 30-year-old Shaman Ali, had run away from Bolan, Balochistan, with a girl named Saima to marry her without family approval. Just three days ago, the couple started living in Mohammad Khan Colony.
On the day of the incident, four armed men riding two motorcycles chased Shaman Ali and his uncles. When they tried to run, the attackers opened fire. Shaman Ali and one uncle, 40-year-old Muhammad Ishaq Hussain, were killed on the spot. Another uncle, 45-year-old Habib, was injured.
The injured and the deceased were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhipa ambulance. Police arrived at the scene and started the investigation. They confirmed that the attackers took the girl, Saima, with them during the escape.
SHO Imran Khan of Manghopir Police Station confirmed that the attackers have been identified as Ghulam Sarwar, Sadiq, Abdul Salam, and Ghulam Haider — all belonging to the Jatoi tribe, like the victims. Police have also taken into custody the person who gave shelter to the couple and included him in the investigation.
Police have collected evidence from the crime scene and launched a search operation to arrest the suspects. Further investigation is underway.
