KARACHI: The Lyari Football Academy has embarked on its journey to take part in Asia’s biggest international youth football tournament — the Sanga Cup 2025.
The team is being led by the academy’s president, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, who expressed pride in representing Pakistan on such a grand stage.
This year’s edition features around 160 teams from 13 countries, competing across multiple age categories — Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16.
The tournament will continue until November 9, and for the first time, para-football events have also been introduced as part of its 15th edition, marking a major milestone in inclusivity.
The Lyari Football Academy will play its opening match on Tuesday at the Chua Chu Kang Football Stadium, where young players aim to showcase their skills and passion for the game on an international platform.
