A man reportedly jumped from an upper floor of the Grand Mosque (Masjid Al Haram) in Makkah, according to a statement issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior. The incident created panic among nearby worshippers who witnessed the unexpected act.
The Special Force for the Security of the Grand Mosque responded immediately after the fall. A security officer who attempted to catch or break the man’s fall suffered injuries during the rescue attempt.
Authorities confirmed that both the man and the injured security officer were quickly transferred to a medical facility for treatment. Their current medical conditions have not yet been officially disclosed.
The Ministry of Interior added that all necessary legal procedures related to the incident have been completed. Further updates may be provided after medical assessments are finalized.
