KARACHI – A man was shot dead and another injured when unidentified assailants opened fire near Samama Bridge on University Road, within the jurisdiction of Mubeena Town Police Station.
According to police reports, two armed suspects riding a motorcycle followed the victims and opened fire, striking the man sitting on the back seat twice. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Anas, a resident of Kashmir, while the injured rider sustained a bullet wound.
Police and the Crime Scene Unit reached the spot shortly after the incident, collecting CCTV footage and other evidence from the scene. Initial investigations suggest the incident appears to be a targeted killing. The attackers fled toward NIPA after the shooting.
CCTV footage shows the victim waiting on his motorcycle when one suspect approached, fired multiple shots at close range, and then escaped with his accomplice. The body and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal procedures.
