KARACHI — A mild earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted several parts of Karachi on Sunday evening, causing brief panic among residents but no reported damage or injuries.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the quake struck at 5:33 PM, with its epicenter located near Quaidabad at a depth of 10 kilometers.

This follows a previous tremor on March 31, 2025, when a 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit Karachi and surrounding areas. At that time, the PMD reported the epicenter was 75 kilometers north of Karachi at a depth of 19 kilometers, while the United States Geological Survey (USGS) noted it as a 4.6-magnitude quake with the epicenter 65 kilometers east-southeast of Uthal, Balochistan, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and stay informed through official channels in the event of aftershocks.
