A modern computerized oxygen supply system has been inaugurated at Civil Hospital Karachi.
According to details, under the new computerized oxygen supply system, oxygen delivery to 40 wards across five buildings of the hospital will now be centrally controlled.
A separate control lock has been installed outside each ward so that in case of an emergency, the suspension of supply in one ward does not affect others. This is the first hospital in Sindh where such a system has been introduced.
An inauguration ceremony for the Oxygen Supply Upgradation Project was held at Civil Hospital Karachi, attended by Pakistan People’s Party leaders Senator Waqar Mehdi, Javed Nagori, and the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Khalid Bukhari.
Senator Waqar Mehdi formally inaugurated the project by cutting the ribbon. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said that the issue of oxygen supply at Civil Hospital had persisted for a long time, which has now been resolved through this modern computerized system.
He stated that all 40 wards in five buildings will receive oxygen through this new system, which will be centrally controlled. He added that this is the only hospital in Sindh equipped with such a facility. The Civil Hospital team is serving humanity and providing the best healthcare facilities to patients from Sindh and Balochistan.
Waqar Mehdi further said that those who question what Sindh has achieved should come forward he can show them not seventeen but seventeen hundred completed projects. The Pakistan People’s Party government has always believed in serving the people; we believe in lighting stoves, not extinguishing them.
He added that fees collected under any category in government hospitals are being reviewed. Medicines and diagnostic tests are being provided free of cost at Civil, Jinnah, and other public hospitals.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Khalid Bukhari stated that the Oxygen Upgradation Project was completed at a cost of 40 to 50 million rupees with the support of the Sindh government and the Health Department. He said more development projects are underway, including the construction of a new tower and emergency block, and added that the Sindh Health Minister is paying special attention to Civil Hospital Karachi.
