In view of the risk of malaria and dengue virus spreading in flood affected areas, mosquito nets and malaria medicines have been provided to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

‎According to sources at the National Institute of Health, through NDMA, mosquito nets and malaria medicines have been sent to KP to prevent the spread of malaria and dengue.

‎Sources said that 10,000 mosquito nets have been sent for flood affected Buner and Shangla, while a mobile testing laboratory has also been dispatched to Buner by the National Institute of Health. For KP and Gilgit Baltistan, 3,140 kilograms of surgical equipment and 350 kilograms of medicines have been sent.

‎The National Institute of Health has also sent teams of doctors to KP, GB, and Azad Kashmir. Sources stated that the Punjab government has not yet requested mosquito nets and medicines, while Sindh and Balochistan governments already have sufficient stock of mosquito nets and medicines.

‎However, sources also said that Sindh and Balochistan governments will be provided mosquito nets and medicines as needed, as the federal government has ample stock available.
