Significant new oil and gas reserves have been discovered in Sindh’s Daharki region, marking another breakthrough in Pakistan’s energy exploration efforts.
According to a notification issued by Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company successfully discovered new reserves of oil and gas from its Mari Ghazij well.
Initial tests indicate that the newly discovered well is producing approximately 3 million cubic feet of gas per day, alongside measurable quantities of crude oil.
Officials said the discovery is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s domestic energy supply and reduce dependence on imported fuel, contributing positively to the national economy.
Mari Petroleum, one of the country’s leading exploration and production companies, stated that further evaluation and testing are underway to determine the full potential of the reserves.
