Islamabad: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a one-day extension for submitting applications under the government Hajj scheme. Citizens can now submit their forms at designated banks on Monday, August 18. The extension has been granted to facilitate applicants and to ensure the remaining quota is filled.
According to a spokesperson for the ministry, more than 110,000 applications have been received over the past 12 days, exceeding initial expectations. At present, only 7,000 seats remain available in the government scheme, and once these are filled, no further applications will be accepted.
The spokesperson clarified that the process is strictly based on a “first come, first served” basis. Citizens who have not yet applied are urged to submit their forms without delay on Monday to secure their chance.
It is worth noting that the government has introduced several measures this year to make the Hajj process more transparent and efficient. Among these steps, applications are being collected exclusively through designated banks to minimize irregularities and ensure smooth handling.
