The joint military exercise ‘Al-Battar II’ between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia concluded in Tabuk on Wednesday after more than a week of intensive counterterrorism training.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise held from November 18 to 26 brought together Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Saudi military units for advanced, real-time combat drills. Officials said the training aimed to strengthen teamwork, coordination, and operational readiness between the two allied forces.

A formal closing ceremony was held in Tabuk, attended by the General Officer Commanding SSG as the chief guest from Pakistan, along with senior commanders of the Saudi armed forces. Troops from both countries showcased their learning through practical demonstrations.

Throughout the exercise, soldiers performed complex counterterrorism tasks, including urban warfare, IED disposal, and precision tactical operations. ISPR noted that both teams displayed exceptional professionalism and strong field discipline.

Officials added that ‘Al-Battar II’ not only boosted the forces’ ability to respond jointly to modern security challenges but also deepened the longstanding defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. All training goals were achieved, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to regional peace, stability, and shared security efforts.
