The Pakistan Hajj Mission has received an Excellence Award in Saudi Arabia in recognition of its outstanding performance during this year’s pilgrimage. The award was presented at a ceremony in Makkah, marking the successful conclusion of Hajj 2025, which was held from June 4 to June 9 and drew millions of Muslims from all over the world.
Pakistan’s Director General of Hajj, Abdul Wahab Soomro, called the award a reflection of the hard work of the Hajj team and the strong support provided by the government.
He added that the Saudi authorities have already announced their policy and timelines for Hajj 2026. Soomro explained that this early announcement will help all involved from travel companies to country missions prepare well in advance. According to the new policy, registration of Hajj operator profiles on the Masar platform will start from 1st Muharram 1447, allowing everyone to plan much earlier.
The ceremony in Makkah was attended by federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Religious Affairs Secretary Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, and Director of Hajj in Makkah, Azizullah Khan. Saudi Arabia collaborates closely with Muslim-majority countries to manage the pilgrimage, and Pakistan, which has a large number of Hajj pilgrims each year, plays a key role in this process.
