Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Navy is fully prepared to protect the country’s maritime borders against any threat. He made this statement during his visit to the forward posts in the Creeks Area on Saturday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Admiral Ashraf said the navy stands ready to safeguard every inch of Pakistan’s maritime frontiers from Sir Creek to Jiwani. He stressed that protecting Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) is not only a defence requirement but also vital for the country’s sovereignty, economy, and long-term stability.
He described the Pakistan Navy as the “vanguard of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region” and an important partner in regional maritime security. He added that the navy’s defence strength extends “from the shores to the deep sea.”
During his visit, the Pakistan Navy inducted three 2400 TD hovercrafts into the Pakistan Marines. These state-of-the-art hovercrafts can operate over land and sea, including shallow waters, marshes, sand dunes, and coastal mudflats areas where traditional boats cannot function. This addition, he said, enhances the navy’s operational capacity and ability to respond quickly and effectively to any threat.
Admiral Ashraf praised the induction of the new platforms, stating that it reflects the navy’s ongoing efforts to modernise and strengthen the defence of Pakistan’s maritime borders, particularly in sensitive regions like the Creeks Area.
