Pakistan has firmly rejected a third formal request from Afghan authorities for a ceasefire, reinforcing Islamabad’s stance that national security and border integrity remain non-negotiable. The development comes amid rising tensions along the Pak-Afghan frontier, where recent cross-border incidents have prompted Pakistan to tighten its defensive measures.

According to official and security sources, the Pakistani military has hoisted the national flag at 29 key checkpoints along the western border, signaling strength and sovereignty in response to escalating hostilities. The symbolic move was accompanied by a heightened state of alert and the deployment of additional personnel to sensitive border regions.

Authorities in Islamabad maintain that Pakistan has consistently pursued peaceful coexistence with Afghanistan but will not tolerate repeated provocations or violations of its territory. Officials emphasized that Pakistan reserves the right to respond decisively to any aggression aimed at destabilizing border security.

Military experts view the latest rejection of Kabul’s ceasefire appeal as a message of deterrence, underscoring Pakistan’s readiness to defend its frontiers and uphold its national interests under all circumstances.
