Pakistan’s youth volleyball team made history on Monday, defeating Indonesia 3–1 in a thrilling semi-final clash to secure a spot in the final of the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025, being held in Bahrain.

The young Pakistani squad displayed outstanding teamwork and resilience throughout the match, taking control after a tough opening set and maintaining their rhythm to seal the victory. With this win, Pakistan not only avenged its earlier group-stage loss to Indonesia but also earned a well-deserved place in the gold medal match.

According to the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), the national team had earlier stunned China 3–0 in the quarterfinals, setting the tone for their confident run in the tournament. PVF officials praised the players’ commitment, calling it “a defining moment for Pakistan’s youth volleyball.”

> “Our boys played with incredible heart and discipline. Beating strong teams like China and Indonesia shows how far youth volleyball has come in Pakistan,” said a PVF spokesperson after the match.

The semi-final took place at the Isa Sports City Complex in Manama, where a lively crowd of supporters from across Asia witnessed the high-energy encounter. Pakistan dominated with powerful spikes and consistent blocking, leaving Indonesia struggling to recover in the later sets.

The victory means Pakistan will now fight for the gold medal in the tournament’s final — a significant milestone for the country’s youth sports program. Their opponent in the final is yet to be confirmed but is expected to be one of the regional volleyball powerhouses such as Iran or Japan.

Sports analysts in Pakistan have hailed the team’s performance as a positive sign for the nation’s volleyball future. “These youngsters are proving that Pakistan can be competitive at the Asian level, not just in cricket or hockey, but in volleyball too,” said sports journalist Ahmed Khan.

The Asian Youth Games 2025, hosted in Bahrain, feature top athletes under the age of 18 from across the continent competing in various disciplines. Pakistan’s impressive run in volleyball has already become one of the standout stories of the event.
