KARACHI: Pakistan is expected to witness its first monsoon spell of the season beginning June 25, 2025, according to a report by ARY News on Tuesday.

Anjum Nazir, Deputy Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), stated that the monsoon rains are likely to start on Wednesday, June 25, and continue until July 2. He explained that Karachi is currently enduring extreme heat conditions, primarily due to a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea, with the “feels-like” temperature possibly reaching up to 50°C.

However, relief is on the horizon. Nazir mentioned that weather conditions are expected to gradually improve by Wednesday evening, as sea breezes are anticipated to return. From June 19 onward, the city may experience overcast skies with chances of light drizzle during the morning and evening hours.

Current and Forecasted Weather Conditions Across Pakistan

For the next twelve hours, most regions across the country are expected to remain hot and dry. However, some areas particularly North-East Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and South-East and Eastern Sindh may experience partly cloudy skies along with isolated dust storms or thunderstorms accompanied by light rain.

Morning Temperatures in Major Cities:

  • Islamabad: 25°C
  • Lahore: 29°C
  • Karachi: 31°C
  • Peshawar: 26°C
  • Quetta: 22°C
  • Gilgit and Muzaffarabad: 20°C
