An exchange of fire took place between Shah Latif Police and armed street criminals during a routine patrol near Sector 21 of Shah Latif Town.
As the police patrol approached, the armed suspects opened fire upon spotting the officers. In retaliatory firing by the police, one suspect was injured and apprehended on the spot, while his accomplice managed to flee the scene.
The injured suspect has been identified as Gul Muhammad. Police recovered one pistol with ammunition, three snatched mobile phones, a sum of cash, and a 125cc motorcycle from his possession.
The injured suspect has been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment. The recovered weapon has been sent for forensic analysis.
Authorities are also reviewing the criminal record of the arrested suspect. Shah Latif Police have initiated legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
Raids are underway to arrest the absconding suspect.
