According to the National Emergency Operation Center (National EOC), the first national polio campaign of 2026 is successfully continuing across the country.
The National EOC says that this polio campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan to effectively prevent cross-border spread of the virus. During the initial three days, more than 38.9 million children have been vaccinated against polio across the country.
According to provincial data, more than 21 million children have received polio drops in Punjab, while vaccination of more than 8.614 million children has been completed in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 6.221 million children have been given polio drops.
Similarly, approximately 1.801 million children have been vaccinated in Balochistan, more than 421,000 children in the federal capital Islamabad, more than 246,000 in Gilgit Baltistan, and more than 647,000 children in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have received polio drops.
The National EOC has appealed to parents to fully cooperate with polio teams so that the goal of making the country polio free can be achieved.
