Another case of polio has been confirmed in North Waziristan, bringing the total number of cases in Pakistan this year to 14.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), the latest case was found in a 19-month-old child.
So far, 8 cases have been reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4 from Sindh, and 1 each from Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
A special anti-polio campaign will soon be carried out in 11 union councils of North Waziristan to stop the spread of the virus.
NEOC has urged all parents to give their children the oral polio vaccine to protect them from this disease.
