Providing Clean Water Can Reduce Diseases by Up to 70 Percent: Mustafa Kamal

Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal has said that according to experts, 70 percent of diseases spread through contaminated water, and by providing clean drinking water, diseases can be reduced by up to 70 percent.

‎Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Mustafa Kamal said that the nursing sector holds great importance in healthcare. He said doctors have limited interaction time with patients in hospitals, therefore patients should be treated with kindness and compassion.

‎He said that the reward for good deeds continues even after death, and everyone must play a collective role to improve the health sector. He added that along with the government, the private sector is also playing its role in the healthcare sector.

‎The Federal Minister for Health said that serving humanity is the best act, and healthcare means preventing people from becoming patients.

‎He said that the country cannot progress with unchecked population growth and that the population must be controlled according to available resources. He added that 6.1 million children are born in the country every year.

‎Mustafa Kamal said that children must be vaccinated against 13 diseases. He added that Pakistan is among the two countries in the world where polio has not yet been eradicated, and last year 30 polio cases were reported in the country.
