According to the official statement, the upcoming Healthcare University and Affiliated Medical College is being developed through a collaboration between NovaCare and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT), UK — an independent NHS institution, not Imperial College London.
Officials confirmed that the NovaCare–ICHT partnership remains fully intact and that the project aims to establish a world-class center for healthcare education, research, and innovation in Lahore. The university will function under the direct supervision of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, ensuring adherence to international medical education and research standards.
CBD Punjab further stated that earlier media reports implying the involvement of Imperial College London were inaccurate and resulted from a misunderstanding.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure and educational excellence through credible international collaborations such as this initiative.
