Lahore: Punjab Police have intensified their search, sweep, and combing operations across the province, including Lahore. In the last 24 hours alone, 515 combing operations were conducted, during which more than 20,340 individuals were checked and 70 suspects were taken into custody.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 28 separate search and sweep operations were also carried out, involving interrogation of over 3,144 individuals, resulting in the detention of two more suspects.
During the crackdown, police arrested 447 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, 158 court absconders, and 111 habitual criminals. A large cache of illegal weapons and ammunition was also recovered from various suspects.
Furthermore, five criminals were neutralized during encounters, while another five were arrested in injured condition.
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated that operations against anti-state and criminal elements will continue without discrimination. He emphasized that search, sweep, and combing operations will be further strengthened in the coming days.
