Police in Rajanpur carried out an overnight operation against criminal elements, destroying 17 hideouts in the riverine belt.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Rajanpur, Muhammad Imran, a joint operation involving Punjab and Sindh police is ongoing in the katcha area. During the latest action, five individuals were recovered. Initial reports identified them as abductees, including a doctor and a dispenser.
The DPO stated that during the operation, security forces demolished 17 hideouts used by criminals and recovered heavy weaponry, including rocket launchers, anti-aircraft guns, and RPGs.
However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anwar Khetran clarified that the doctor and dispenser recovered from the area were not abductees but facilitators of criminal gangs. He said both individuals had been providing medical treatment to outlaws and had staged a false abduction to mislead authorities.
SSP Anwar Khetran added that the doctor and dispenser belong to the Nawazabad area of Sadiqabad and sustained injuries during a drone strike conducted as part of the police operation.
