RAW’s Hand Exposed in Badin Target Killing: Six Suspects Arrested by Sindh CTD

KARACHI: The Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) announced on Saturday that it had uncovered the involvement of India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in the target killing of a man in Badin district. Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to CTD officials, the victim, identified as 45-year-old Abdul Rehman, was a social worker who was gunned down in Matli on May 18. Investigations revealed that the killing was orchestrated by RAW through its local facilitators.

CTD Additional Inspector General (AIG) Azad Khan told reporters that a joint operation with state intelligence agencies led to the arrests. He said that RAW handler Sanjay Kumar, alias Fauji, operating from a Gulf state, masterminded the plot, while local operatives carried out the execution.

“The suspects had monitored the victim’s movements for several days before attacking him. RAW provided funding through multiple channels, using criminal elements and separatist outfits as proxies,” AIG Khan said.

The CTD also arrested individuals involved in terror financing and recovered weapons, motorcycles, and communication devices. Officials said that under international law, such “extra-territorial killings” are considered state-sponsored terrorism.

Investigations are ongoing, with more arrests expected in connection with the network linked to RAW and separatist groups.
