ISLAMABAD – A disturbing incident of physical assault has been reported at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where a senior doctor allegedly subjected a trainee doctor to severe violence.
According to details, the victim, identified as Dr. Ibrahim, has filed a written complaint at Karachi Company Police Station, seeking legal action against the accused.
In his statement, Dr. Ibrahim claimed that he went to the Burn Center for duty when a security guard stopped him on the orders of senior doctor Abdul Khaliq. Moments later, Dr. Abdul Khaliq, along with several colleagues, allegedly assaulted him.
The trainee doctor further alleged that during the assault, Dr. Abdul Khaliq smashed his mobile phone and, with the help of others, detained him in a room for nearly two hours.
Dr. Ibrahim stated in his complaint that he has been receiving threats of dismissal and death from Dr. Abdul Khaliq. He has appealed to the authorities to take immediate action against the accused.
