With the increase in cold weather, the number of respiratory patients has risen, and a shortage of environmental allergy vaccines has emerged at the National Institute of Health. Allergy centers have been limited to providing only testing facilities, and hundreds of patients across the country are returning without receiving the vaccine.
Patients visiting allergy centers of the National Institute of Health from various cities require more than six hundred vaccines daily. Individuals suffering from asthma, flu, cold, eye allergies, respiratory, and throat related allergies are currently deprived of allergy vaccines.
The number of patients waiting for the allergy vaccine has reached four thousand, while the price of one vaccine is one thousand rupees. CEO of the National Institute of Health, Dr. Muhammad Salman, also acknowledged the shortage and stated that due to an issue with a chemical, the post production stage of the allergy vaccine was delayed. He added that other vaccines are available and that the allergy vaccine will be made available soon.
