KARACHI, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), in collaboration with Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association and Aligarh Institute of Technology, organized a Mehfil-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The spiritually enriching gathering highlighted the Prophet’s message of peace, compassion, justice, and unity, with strong support from social activist and businessman Haji Rafiq Pardesi.
Renowned scholar Allama Mufti Muhammad Yasir Barakati, addressing the audience, stressed the importance of following the Prophet’s example as the pathway to Allah’s love. He reminded participants that the Prophet (PBUH) devoted his life to fighting injustice and safeguarding the rights of the oppressed, including the poor and orphans, presenting Islam as a religion of both spiritual and social freedom.
Chancellor of SSUET, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, described the Prophet (PBUH) as “Rahmat-ul-lil-Alameen,” a mercy for all humanity. He said the Prophet’s life remains a guiding model of righteousness, moral integrity, and social justice, emphasizing that the values of equality and devotion to God should continue to inspire Muslims today.
The event also featured heartfelt naats by Shakeel Madni, Muhammad Zain Hashmani, Asad Ayub, Abdul Haseeb, Haris Kamal, Hassan Abbas, and others. Chairperson of Zakir Ali Khan Foundation, Ms. Erum Akbar Ali, urged the youth to embrace the Prophet’s principles of truth, compassion, and justice. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah and a renewed pledge to follow the Prophet’s teachings in daily life.
