A powerful winter storm has arrived across parts of the East Coast, bringing heavy snow and dangerous icy conditions to New England and the Mid-Atlantic on December 2. Forecasters warned that the mix of “heavy snow and impactful icing” could create hazardous travel conditions.
More than 45 million Americans were placed under winter weather advisories across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and parts of the western U.S. The alerts stretched from Kentucky and North Carolina all the way up to New York, Massachusetts, and Maine.
In New England, snowfall is expected to be significant, with forecasters cautioning residents to prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility. Ice accumulation is also likely in several regions, increasing the risk of accidents.
