A throwback video of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has gone viral on social media, showing the actor sharing thoughtful advice about the traditional practice of eating on a ‘dastarkhan’ a cloth spread on the floor for meals in Muslim culture.
In the resurfaced clip, SRK explains the wisdom behind this age old dining habit. He says, “Since childhood, we were taught to eat on the floor. When you sit cross-legged and eat, one-third of your stomach gets compressed, so you don’t overeat but still feel full.” He further adds that it’s a healthy practice to “leave a little space in your stomach instead of stuffing yourself.”
The actor humbly admits that while he may not know the biological explanation, he firmly believes that moderation and mindfulness during meals contribute to good health.
Fans have widely praised the video, appreciating how SRK beautifully connects cultural traditions with simple health lessons, reflecting his humble and grounded personality.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan recently attended the 70th Filmfare Awards, where he received his first National Award. The beloved star will next appear in his much-anticipated film “King,” alongside Deepika Padukone and Suhana Khan.
