Severe weather warnings have been issued ahead of Storm Bram as it is expected to hit the United Kingdom on Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm is likely to bring very strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Gusts of up to 90mph (144km/h) are expected in north-west Scotland, while strong winds will be felt in many parts of the country. Heavy rain may also cause local flooding, especially in Wales and south-west England.
The UK’s Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind in north-west Scotland from Tuesday afternoon to midnight. There is a risk of damage to buildings.
Authorities have warned of possible transport delays and cancellations. People have been advised to stay cautious and follow safety guidance.
