‎A successful robotic surgery for pancreatic cancer has been performed at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center PKLI Lahore.

‎PKLI Dean Dr Faisal Saud Dar said that the institution has performed more than 500 robotic surgeries so far. He stated that robotic surgery has made major operations possible through small incisions.

‎He further said that a complex liver cancer surgery was also performed at PKLI using a robot. According to him, PKLI is emerging as a major center for advanced organ transplantation and cancer surgery.

‎It is worth noting that liver and pancreatic cancers often prove fatal and their treatment is also difficult. However, surgery increases the chances of survival for patients.
