Sunjay Kapur, Indian industrialist and ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, passed away at the age of 53 after suffering a heart attack during a polo match in England.
According to early reports, Kapur collapsed mid-game while playing polo in the UK. Medical personnel at the scene responded immediately, but he could not be revived. His death occurred on the field, reportedly in front of several witnesses including fellow players and staff.
The news of his passing was confirmed by columnist and author Suhel Seth, who posted on social media: “Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar. Om Shanti.”
While the primary cause of death is listed as cardiac arrest, multiple media outlets have reported that Kapur may have accidentally swallowed a bee during the game. Though unconfirmed, the incident may have triggered an allergic reaction, which could have contributed to or accelerated the cardiac episode. No official medical report or family confirmation has been released regarding this detail.
