After the second case of mpox was reported from Karachi, the total number of mpox cases in Sindh this year has reached three.

‎According to Medical Superintendent Dr. Waheed Rajput, a 22 year old resident of Buffer Zone was admitted to the Infectious Disease Hospital NIPA yesterday, where this became the second reported case of mpox.

‎Dr. Waheed Rajput stated that no travel history of the affected individual has been found, and after confirmation of mpox, the patient has been shifted to isolation.

‎According to sources, earlier this year, two cases of mpox had already been confirmed in Karachi and Khairpur, while a patient from Khairpur is currently under treatment at Aga Khan Hospital.

‎It is worth mentioning that earlier this year, mpox was also confirmed in a 31 year old patient who had arrived from abroad.
