KARACHI:
At least three people lost their lives while one person went missing in separate drowning incidents reported in Karachi’s Hawksbay and Korangi areas, prompting rescue operations by emergency authorities.
According to rescue officials, the victims drowned while swimming in the sea and other water bodies. Emergency teams were dispatched to the affected locations and managed to recover the bodies of three individuals. Efforts continued to locate the missing person.
Authorities stated that strong currents and unsafe swimming conditions may have contributed to the incidents. Citizens have been repeatedly advised to avoid entering deep waters, particularly in areas where swimming is prohibited or warning flags are displayed.
Rescue personnel urged beachgoers and visitors to follow safety instructions and remain vigilant while near water bodies. Officials also emphasized the importance of observing weather and sea condition advisories before visiting coastal areas.
The incidents have renewed concerns about public safety at recreational sites, especially during periods of increased visitor activity.
