Lionsgate has unveiled the first trailer for Good Fortune, the much-anticipated directorial debut from Aziz Ansari.The trailer for Good Fortune, the upcoming comedy marking Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut, has been officially released. Starring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, and Ansari himself, the film is set to hit theaters on October 17.
Good Fortune follows Gabriel (Reeves), a well-meaning but clumsy angel who gets involved in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Rogen). The ensemble cast also includes Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
Ansari praised Palmer’s performance, stating, “Keke is a delight to work with. I’m so happy she’s a part of our cast and even more excited to provide a quote for this press release announcing her casting.”
The film is produced by Ansari, Anthony Katagas, and Alan Yang, with executive producers Christopher Woodrow, Connor DiGregorio, and Jonathan McCoy. Brady Fujikawa and Jon Humphrey are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
A joint production between Garam Films, Oh Brudder, Keep Your Head, and Yang Pictures, Good Fortune is presented by Lionsgate in association with Media Capital Technologies.
Originally titled Being Mortal, the film was initially planned for release in 2022 but was delayed following allegations against former cast member Bill Murray. With a new cast and creative direction, Good Fortune now prepares for its much-anticipated theatrical debut this fall.
