The recent surge in tensions stems from India’s missile strikes on what it identified as terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-administered regions, in response to a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. Pakistan has reported civilian casualties from the Indian strikes and has vowed to respond appropriately.
