U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that resolving the ongoing Pakistan-Afghanistan border tensions would be “very easy” for him.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he was fully aware of the recent clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier and expressed confidence in his ability to bring peace between the two neighboring countries.
“I like stopping wars. I know what’s happening between Pakistan and Afghanistan — ending that war would be very easy for me,” Trump said.
The U.S. President also referred to his earlier efforts to mediate between Pakistan and India, saying:
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told me that by stopping the Pakistan-India conflict, I helped save millions of lives.”
Trump’s remarks come as regional tensions have intensified, prompting renewed international calls for restraint and dialogue between Islamabad and Kabul.
